First heard of this film when watched the trailer for it, slightly put off by the £12 price tag I initially did not get it but curiosity took hold and I got the download.....A good decision!
Well filmed with touching moments but also some funny parts (spaghetti, peanut butter, jam.....).
I felt really sorry for Andy when he left and have since bought his book to read his views (maybe another film)
Overall well worth the money spent, a great film.

I came across Tom\'s blog whilst I was looking for advice and inspiration for my first longish bike ride... Tom\'s big ride had come to an end by then but the film didn\'t exist at that point - just lots of footage I expect. I\'ve followed Tom\'s updates as the film was put together, he battled for a year to get a film festival to take it up, through his private screening, the Raindance Film Festival premier to the release of the DVD and now the book! Its been really inspiring to see his hard work deliver something so lovely, and to be able to watch the film and now read in more detail about the adventure that I was a little late to the party finding.

This isn\'t really a bike film. Its not a monologue of \'today we rode here, we did 50 miles, its hot, my bike has a problem...\' Its much more of a story than that, on many levels, and is very personal. It\'s about adventure, travel, friendship, challenge and love, and through it, Tom ask a lot of questions about success, motivation, and happiness that many of us find ourselves asking in these times. Although Tom says that it took him a long time to be able to speak to the camera properly, I find that he is able to convey an awful lot about his personal motivations, conflicts and struggles, with few words. Its also very funny - I\'ve now seen it 4 times and still laugh.

If you happen to also be into long distance bike journeys then its also great inspiration for getting out there and exploring! Watching it makes me feel the emotion of my own short trip and give me heaps of inspiration for for getting on with the next one.

I\'d also recommend reading Tom\'s book that has just been released. Its really well written, covers much more of the preparation and early days of the trip than the film was able to (and which I personally find interesting for planning my own journey) and is a joy to read. Well done Tom!

What an inspiring film. It takes a lot of nerve to head out into the great unknown with only a compass as a guide. This will hopefully encourage more people to do something truly interesting in their lives. It was also very interesting to see Tom\'s views and opinions develop and evolve throughout the trip.

With an impending cycle trip from London - Athens this summer, meeting Tom at the screening in London was a real treat, and his advice was invaluable. I\'m full of admiration of what he achieved out there and also how well he has communicated that story to everyone else on his return. Well done Tom!

I very much enjoyed this. And one thing I particularly enjoyed was that this was a story rather than a travelogue. A film about a real-life journey such as this could easily turn into a series of unconnected events - real life travelling often doesn\'t have much of a theme running through it - and I feel that Tom and James did well to recognise this and bring the story element out so strongly.

That said, having previously been a fairly committed bus-backpacker, I do now find myself on the web looking at the merits of different kinds of long-distance bicycle. Which is slightly worrying!

An adventure story, a travelogue, a love story, a 'coming of age' movie, Janapar is all of these! Beautifully filmed by Tom himself, what starts out as a simple video diary of his adventure, develops into a delightful record of a journey through some of the most challenging terrain, both physically and emotionally, as he gains insight into what really matters to him! A joy to watch!

Wonderful wonderful wonderful film! I don't understand the attraction to sleeping in the desert, but I so admire Tom for following his heart. And I am so happy that his heart led him where it did. Buy the DVD or download the film and watch it with someone you love.
